MAMBOG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
PP'S NEWEST PARTNER AND RECIPIENT

We are excited to announce our newest partner and recipient, MAMBOG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, located in Malolos City, Bulacan.  The school has 11 teachers and 343 students from Kindergarten to Grade 6, with class sizes ranging from 20 to 56 students.  The school has 10 instructional rooms and 3 non-instructional rooms (Home Economics, Practical Arts, and Multimedia).

On May 15, 2017, Pusong Pinoy represented by our Philippines Team Leader CAROL VEGA, delivered 500 books, school supplies, and P5,165 to be used towards construction of four new bookshelves.  The donations were received by MARICHU CAPULE MANALOTO, Acting Principal, and some of the teachers.

Mambog ES offers a reading program called School Pupil Government (SPG), a Peer Reading Tutorial.   The students get an hour and 30 minutes lunch break.  They go home for lunch and return to school 30 minutes before the class starts for the SPG.   Grade 4 and 5 students teach the 1st to 3rd graders every other day.   The non-proficient readers are provided one-on-one assistance.  Those who read slowly are taught in groups.  Higher-level students are also assigned to read stories to Kindergarten students.  The school uses buddy system (peer to peer), wherein a student in a higher level who can read will assist the lower level non-reader child to read and understand the materials.  By doing so, they promote literacy and social awareness.

We look forward to this partnership.  Thank you to all the HEROES for making this possible!  To learn more about our book drive or to make a donation, click HERE.  Thanks in advance.
