CONGRATULATIONS TO
CALIFORNIA JTL CARISSA PACCERELLI

CONGRATULATIONS to our California Junior Team Leader, CARISSA PACERELLI, for her countless awards highlighting her God-given talent as an AMAZING ARTIST! We also celebrate Carissa today for her exceptional work as a humanitarian and a fierce advocate for child literacy through Pusong Pinoy.

We are grateful and in awe of her compassion and dedication to our cause by collecting over 15,000 book donations from her family, friends and from schools and public libraries since she was 10 years old. Last year alone, she donated over 1,000 gently used books, because she truly cares about the kids in the Philippines.

"JTL Carissa, THANK YOU for everything that you have done for thousands of children in the Philippines. They may not meet you in person or know of what you've done to make sure they learn how to read better, but they will surely benefit from your continuous acts of kindness.

Your inner light has shined so brightly all these years that it has warmed the hearts of so many people, inspiring them to follow your footsteps and help as well. Thank you for being you. You've been a blessing to us all. God bless you, my SUPERHERO." - Donna

MAMBOG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
PP'S NEWEST PARTNER AND RECIPIENT

We are excited to announce our newest partner and recipient, MAMBOG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, located in Malolos City, Bulacan.  The school has 11 teachers and 343 students from Kindergarten to Grade 6, with class sizes ranging from 20 to 56 students.  The school has 10 instructional rooms and 3 non-instructional rooms (Home Economics, Practical Arts, and Multimedia).

On May 15, 2017, Pusong Pinoy represented by our Philippines Team Leader CAROL VEGA, delivered 500 books, school supplies, and P5,165 to be used towards construction of four new bookshelves.  The donations were received by MARICHU CAPULE MANALOTO, Acting Principal, and some of the teachers.

Mambog ES offers a reading program called School Pupil Government (SPG), a Peer Reading Tutorial.   The students get an hour and 30 minutes lunch break.  They go home for lunch and return to school 30 minutes before the class starts for the SPG.   Grade 4 and 5 students teach the 1st to 3rd graders every other day.   The non-proficient readers are provided one-on-one assistance.  Those who read slowly are taught in groups.  Higher-level students are also assigned to read stories to Kindergarten students.  The school uses buddy system (peer to peer), wherein a student in a higher level who can read will assist the lower level non-reader child to read and understand the materials.  By doing so, they promote literacy and social awareness.

We look forward to this partnership.  Thank you to all the HEROES for making this possible!  To learn more about our book drive or to make a donation, click HERE.  Thanks in advance.

CELEBRATING JERIANNA'S BIRTHDAY
THE PUSONG PINOY WAY

Pusong Pinoy commend our long-time heroes, MIKE & ANNA TESORERO of Northern California for teaching their kids the joy of giving and the value of sharing through acts of kindness.

Last year, their daughter, JERIANNA, celebrated her birthday at the park, surrounded by loved ones. Instead of birthday presents for herself, her family asked guests to make a donation to Pusong Pinoy instead. Together, they were able to raise $750 which was used towards our 2016 SCHOLARSHIP PROJECT.

Please join us in thanking this amazing family. May God continue to bless and protect them.
